Sarah Jane Wible was born on July 4, 1840, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John J. Wible and Mary Margaret (Rugh) Wible.


She was the oldest of 10 children. The first 5 were born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania:

After the Civil War, in 1866, the family moved from Mendon, Illinois,

Sarah died at home in Mendon, Missouri, on November 18, 1920. Funeral services were at the Mendon Methodist Church on November 20, 1920.
