Mirtie Farr Dockery, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Dockery was born on October 30, 1930 in Newington, GA to the late Cone Edwards Smith and Mirtie Farr Smith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her two daughters, Martha Lou (Chris) Royer, of Douglas, GA and Barbara D. (Carlos) Young, of Augusta, GA, two sons, Karl K. (Theresa) Dockery, Jr., of Albany, GA and Walter (Denise) Dockery, of Broxton, GA, sister, Christine Cieselowski of Kildare, GA, ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Candice) Dockery, Tyler (Libba) Dockery, John (Callie) Royer, Kate (Todd) Walker, Dockery Young, Carla (Bill) Parker, Allie (David) Wall, Emma Young, Walter Karl "Bobo" Dockery, and Sabra Dockery, thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and caregiver, Barbara Mathis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Karl "Bo" Dockery and grandson, William Kramer Royer, three, sisters, Sarah Floyd, Eve Underwood, and Martha Bevill, and three brothers, Joseph Smith, Augustus Smith, and Walter Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Music was furnished for the service by the Congregation "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", "Doxology " and "To God Be The Glory" with Teresa Holliday playing the piano. Active Pallbearers were: John Royer, Jeremy Dockery, Dockery Young, Tyler Dockery, Bobo Dockery, Bill Parker, Todd Walker, David Wall, and Belger Dockery. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
