Chandler was the child of Jesse and Margery (Munson) Church. He married Lura Warner April 24, 1829 in Monroe Co., NY. He was a teacher, surveyer, forwarding business, farmer, rancher, and politician. He went West to Nevada Co., California and farmed there. He was the first supervisor of Sheridan township. He also held the offices of Justice of Peace and postmaster. Lura and him were the parents of five children: Wareham, Lura Ann, Mary Elizabeth,
Munson, and John Franklin.
