Sue B. Dillard, 89, of Mills River died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at the Elizabeth House.
A native and lifelong resident of Mills River, she was a daughter of the late James Charlton Brittain Sr. and Minnie McAvoy Brittain. She was the wife of the late Archie E. Dillard Sr., who died in 1998. She had retired from Pardee Hospital and was an avid gardener who loved the outdoors. She was a member of Mills River Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Archie E. Dillard Jr. of Waco, Texas, C. Barry Dillard and Brad Dillard of Mills River; a sister, Connie Zirkle of Mills River; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mills River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Botsford will officiate. The family will receive friends at her home. Memorials can be made to Mills River Presbyterian Church, 10 Presbyterian Church Road, Mills River, N.C. 28759.
