Elizabeth Ella Abbott Collier
Elizabeth Ella Abbott Collier was born on December 17, 1916, and died on May 9, 2012. She was one of 14 children born to Harry Walker and Ella Abbott. Liz was a life-long Galvestonian and member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her 13 siblings, her husband of 52 years Howard L. Collier, and her beloved son Earl Collier. Liz is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Ron Hollaway, daughter-in-law Karen Collier, sister-in-law Louise Abbott Dickey, grandchildren Cindy Sullivan, Patti Baran and husband Tom, Howard Collier and wife Jessica, Dr. Amy Hollaway, Blake Hollaway, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
These are the facts of her life, but there was so much more. Liz was quite the old Southern belle. Family, Home, and God were her foundation. When someone needed help, she was the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. She never met a stranger. She lived her life to the fullest and was loved by all who knew her. They say you are judged by what you leave behind. If that is true, she has left us a legacy of fun, laughter, and love.
We celebrate Elizabeth Collier's life and will strive to live our lives as well as she did, until we meet again.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church, with Reverend Susan Kennard officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
