Grace Caffall Steely, age 80, died August 3, 1992, in Salt Lake City of natural causes.

She was born August 14, 1911, in Salt Lake City, the second of three daughters born to Frank A. and Viola Jones Caffall. She graduated from East High School and attended Westminster College and the University of Utah. In 1940 she met William L. Steely, who was instrumental in her conversion to Catholicism, and whom later she married. They had one son, Joseph Frank Steely, whom Grace adored. Tragedy struck in 1962 when Joe was drowned in a swimming accident at age 17. Her husband also preceded her in death.Grace retired from Osborne Apparel after more than 30 years as supervisor of their work force of more than 100 women.

She is survived by: Her sister, Ethel Collins and her children, Janice and Bob Collins; her nephew, Jack C. Elder, son of her deceased sister, Thelma Thurman. Grace is also survived by her long time friend, DarLeen Thoresen, who gave years of love and support to the Caffall girls.

Grace's strong faith in God and her church have been the foundation of her strenth in overcoming all adversity. We will all miss her for, as her name implies, she was truly full of grace.

Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at Saint Ann's Church, 450 East 2100 So., Thursday, August 6, 1992, 10 a.m. Friends may call at Evans & Early Funeral Mortuary, 574 East 1st South, Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to St. Ann's Church School Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
