Scott L. Varner, 51, of Fort Smith, died Friday, May 11, 2012 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a Business Leader at Gerber, president of Local # 260 for fifteen years, veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Troop Master of Boy Scout Troop #19, an Eagle Scout, and member of the Order of The Arrow.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Witcherville with burial at Dayton Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Survivors include two sons, Jacob Varner and his mother, Krista, both of Fort Smith, and Colby Varner and his mother, Debbie, both of Charleston; one sister, Amy Reather and husband, Randall of Witcherville; one brother, Britt Varner and wife, Diana of Conway; his mother, Merle Varner of Dayton, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dan Varner; one brother, Lance Dan Varner; his son, Austin Scott Varner; and grandparents, Urban and Ora Varner and Georgia and Jarrett Milam.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop #19.
