Effie Ellen Keller married Sherman Simms on Apr 25, 1900 in Montgomery Co, IN. They had 6 children. After the passing of Sherman, Effie married Orville Russell Lighty on Mar 31, 1936 in Fountain Co, IN. Effie was the daughter of William Francis Keller and Mahala Dowden.

Hillsboro - Mrs. Effie Leighty 80 of near Hillsboro died at 9:45 a.m. Friday in Culver Hospital, where she had been a patient three days.  She was a member of  Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene and had made her home on a farm two miles north of Hillsboro since 1936.  Born December 4, 1882, in Parke County she was a daughter of William F. and Mahalia Dowden Keller.  She was married in 1898 to Sherman Simms, who died in 1935.  In 1936 she married Orville Russell Leighty, who died in 1937.  Survivors include two sons, Raymond Simms of Indianapolis, and Freeman Simms of Logansport; three daughters, Mrs. Mammie Coleman of near Hillsboro, Mrs. Marie Fugate of near Attica and Mrs. Evelyn Roland of Garden City, Colo; 25 grandchildren; several great grandchildren eight great grandchildren and a brother, Howard Keller of Kansas.  She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin and two great grandsons.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Michael Smythers officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
