Mrs. Ethel M. Eckroth, 81, of 225 East Eighth street, Berwick, died Sunday morning at Grandview Health Home, Danville R.D. 4, where she was a patient for five days. She was in failing health since July.
She was born June 18, 1895, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Cragle Clingerman. She lived in Berwick all of her life. She was a member of Berwick Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel W. Eckroth, to whom she was married 63 years; three daughters, Mrs. Helen E. Spaid and Mrs. Frank (Mary) Gordon, both of Berwick; Mrs. Walter (Phyllis) Bloom, Northeast, Md.; two sons, Rev. William H. Eckroth, Montezuma, Ind.; and Keith E. Eckroth, Lansdale, Pa.; eight grand children. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 from the James L. Hinckley Funeral Home, Berwick, with Rev. William F. Tucker, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
