WILLIAM WILEY GURR FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services were held Tuesday at noon in the Vernal Fifth Ward LDS Chape for William Wiley Gurr, 69, of Vernal who died Saturday of a heart attack at his home.

Mr. Gurr was born May 16, 1990 in Vernal to Enoch and Lydia Cook Gurr. He married Hazel Massey February 28, 1932 in Meeker. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was in the sand and gravel trucking business as a partner in Intermountain Concrete Company at one time, and was a real estate salesman. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vernal; daughter, Mrs. John (Cherie) McLaughlin, Las Vegas; Mrs. Carl (Joy) McDaniel, Bountiful; six grandchildren, sisters, Estella Workman, Leona Anderson, both of Vernal.

Bishop Bruce Caldwell conducted the funeral services. Carl McDaniel gave the prayer at the mortuary. Dallas Workman gave the opening prayer, followed by a song by President and Mrs. Glade Sowards, accompanied by Eloise Adams.

A tribute was paid to Mr. Gurr by Wilford Stoddard, LuRae Caldwell and VIrginia Ewell sang, "When God Sees Your Gardeb". Speakers were William Slaugh and Chellus Caldwell.

"We'll Meet at the End of the Trail" was sung by Mrs. Caldwell and Mrs. Ewell. The closing song, "Going Home", was sung by President and Mrs. Sowards. Clarence Palmer gave the closing prayer.

Earl E. Gurr dedidcated the grave in the Vernal Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Tommy Anderson, Harold Cook, Ffloyd Workman, Deloss Workman, Deloy Gurr and Bill Richens. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Vernal Fifth Ward Elders Quorum.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Stoddard, Mountain View, Wyoming; Chase Waterson and the John R. McLaughlins, Las Vegas; the Carl C. McDaniels, Bountiful; the Ivan A. Odles, Hurricane.

Also the Dallas Workmans and Mrs. Leon Glenn, Kaysville; the Ray Risleys, Jeanine Jensen, the Douglas Hatches, the William E. Gurr family, all of Salt Lake City; The Deloy Gurrs, Pleasant Grove.

The Earl E. Gurrs and Linda, Elaine Fish, Shauna Catwright, all of Provo; the Robert S. Sheltons, Orem; Everett Massey, Holleywood, California; Merle Ross, the Sewell Masseys, Mrs. Silvan Reynolds and the Boyd Simpers, Roosevelt; Deloss Workman, Grand junction; the Jarrell Masseys, Meeker and Naomi Martin, Duchesne.
