First bishop of Central Pennsylvania. Known as "The Bishop" he is the great-grandson of Mark Antony DeWolf founder of the DeWolf "privateer" and political empire of Bristol, Rhode Island. He married three times, first to Mary Armory then to Elizabeth Marshall and lastly to Eliza Whitney. Eighteen children and thirty-one grandchildren were produced from this union. The land that encompasses the cemetery in which he is interred was formerly part of the farm owned by his great uncle "Quaker" Levi DeWolf named as such not for his religion but for his daily penchant of sitting atop the hill on his property and reading his bible as he viewed the serenity of Bristol Harbor. The quote on the marker of " The Bishop" reads: "My trust is in the tender mercy of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord"
