Suggested edit: John Owsley Alley COLUMBIANA, Feb. 2 —John Owsley Alley, 45, of 216 N. Elm St, died suddenly of a heart attack at 8:05 pm Thursday at his his home.
Born Sept. 17, 1905, in Nashville, Tenn., he was the son of Lulu and Charles P. Alley. He married Mildred Backus Nov. 5, 1932, in Youngstown, from where they moved in 1940 to reside in Columbiana. Since that time they have lived three years in Florida. He left Nashville in 1925.
A member of the South United Presbyterian church of Youngstown, he was active in the Columbiana Booster club until the past year. He operated the A. & B. truck stop on the Columbiana- East Palestine rd but was formerly employed by the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Co. in Youngstown.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two children. Paul and Nancy at home; a sister, Lillian Baker of Evansville, Ind., and three half-brothers and three half-sisters in Nashville.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 Monday at the Seederly funeral home in charge of Rev. H. J. Scheidemantle of the Columbiana Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Columbiana cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening at the funeral home.
