BETTY J. WILLIAMS, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Born March 10, 1923, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Shirley and Beatrice Shaney-felt. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church where she served in the deaf ministry for over 50 years. She was a registered Interpreter for the Deaf, and was the first interpreter for WANE-TV. Surviving are daughters, Lynda M. Smith of Kennesaw, Ga. and Marilyn K. (Jim) Tolbert of Roanoke; son, Rev. Donald F. (Nancy) Williams of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Bryan (Skyra) Smith, Brandon (Dori) Smith, Brady (Diane) Smith, Hunter James (Rachelle) Tolbert, and Landon,...

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1989; son, Danny; brothers, Wayne and Robert Shaneyfelt; and sister, Dorothy Paxson. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling two hours prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
