Jose L. Garcia, 74, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Jose was born May 16, 1937, in Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ephifania Livar.

Survivors: Wife, Francisca Garcia; daughters, Mary Ann Leal and husband, Gilbert, Dianna Gonzales and husband, Hector, Yoland Lira and husband, Michael, Eve Garcia and Helen Garcia; sons, Adam Garcia and wife, Hilda, Joel Garcia and wife, Vivian; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother, Santiago Basaldu.
