Thelma was born April 4, 1920 on the family homestead near Kingsville, She graduated from Kingsville High School and attended a vocational school to become a LPN. She married the love of her life, Wayne Ingram Wesner on September 4, 1943. Though she loved Missouri, she moved around the United States to be near her daughter and grandson. In each place she gathered friends and was thrilled to be grams or grandma to many. These communities included Washington, D.C., South Attleboro, MA, Stevens Point, WI, Tampa, FL, Riverside, CA and Dayton, OH. Thelma retired in 1982 from her nursing career. Thelma was an avid reader and seamstress, loved to travel, do needlepoint and embroidery, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Ravertta C. Niehoff of Dayton, OH; her grandson: Brian Alan Niehoff of Dallas, TX, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward F. and Ruth E. (Talley) Hobbs, husband, Wayne in 1958 and by five brothers & 4 sister-in-laws: Edward F. Jr. (Marie Ball), Lawrence (Dixie Sechrest), Virgil (Ruth Burke), Russell Hobbs (Dorothy Clarke), and a baby brother Jesse.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Edwin Caberra officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Oak Grove, Missouri on Monday, May 14 at 11:00 am.
