OBITUARY :
LAUREN DOUGLAS MILLS, 74, of George Street in Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 10, 2012.

Born June 5, 1937, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Milton A. and Jean E. (Repp) Mills.

Lauren was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed on the ship Lake Champlain. He retired as a supervisor at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Morningstar) Mills for more than 53 years.

Lauren is also survived by two daughters, Tanna M. Sharrah and husband, Paul, and Tracy L. Gelwicks and husband, Tim; a son, Mark A. Mills; two sisters, Carole J. Mills and Madeline Wolfe; a brother, Noel L. Mills; eight grandchildren, Ronald L. Renner Jr., Heather M. Sharrah, Dwayne A. Renner, Mark A. Mills Jr., Justin W. Renner, Lauren A. Mills, Blaine A. Gelwicks and Brooke N. Gelwicks; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lauren D. Mills; and one brother, Michael W. Mills.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors being accorded by Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42.

Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
