DAYTON RESIDENT PASSES IN HOME
DAYTON, July 7 - Philip Henry Oaks, age 66 years, passed away June 23, at his home after a long illness.
Oaks was born in Portland, October 15, 1882, and has been a resident near Dayton for the past 29 years.
Services were held in the Holingsworth-Gwin chapel at Newberg Monday, June 27, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Don Gray, McMinnville, officiating.
Oaks is survived by his wife, Catherine, and daughter, Ramona Oaks. Six brothers and two sisters also survive the deceased.
Pallbearers were Oscar Dower, Jim Perkey, Winnie McDougal, Leslie McDougal, Wes Valek and Keith Coburn.
Interment was in IOOF cemetery, Dayton.
