1993 Obituary
Helen Neola Peterson Christensen, 84, of Richfield, Utah, died February 17, 1993 at her daughter's home in Richfield.
She was born March 10, 1908 in Richfield, Utah, to Joseph Morten and Nelda Marie Busk Peterson. She married Delbert Theodore Christensen, June 14, 1928 in Manti, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June of 1963. He died December 23, 1979.
Neola was proud that she has lived her whole life in Richfield. She and Del celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1978. Her whole life was her family with many Danish style get-togethers.
Before her marriage, she worked as a telephone operator in Richfield. She was an Avon Representative for 23 years and was a member of the BPW and DUP, holding offices in both.
Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. She won ribbons at the Sevier County Fair for her plant and flower entries.
Active member of the LDS Church. She served in all the auxiliary organizations.
She is survived by four sons and five daughters and their spouses, Corene Anderson, Don and wife, Mary Christensen, all Richfield, Utah; JoAnn and husband, Pete Hansen, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jean and husband, Reed Kesler, Richfield, Utah; David and wife, Ricarda Christensen, Sunset, Utah; Nan and husband, Lynn Peacock, Hooper, Utah; Terry and wife, Marsha Christensen, Richfield, Utah; Myrna and husband, John Lee, Las Vegas, Nevada; Karl and wife, Debbie Christensen, Richfield, Utah; 48 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Zell Peterson, Eldred Peterson, Ehrmel Peterson, Verlene Wrigley, all of Richfield, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Val D. Christensen; two daughters, Nedra Foy and Susan Christensen; six brothers, Reed, Marian, Leland, Max, Sylvan, Neldon, one sister, Ruby.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 1993 at 1 p.m. in the Richfield 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 985 South 400 West, Richfield, Utah. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary in Richfield, Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel, Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral Directors: Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.
