FORT WORTH - Charles "Bowie" Whitworth, a retired carpenter, died Tuesday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 78.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home

Mr. Whitworth was born in Desert.

Survivors: Wife, Georgia Whitworth of Fort Worth; daughter, Donna Thompson of Fort Worth; brother, Doyle Whitworth of Tioga; sister, Dovie Bradford of Collinsville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
