Henry Brockmeyer was born July 11, 1855, at Landesbergen, Province Hannover, Germany, and died at his home in Lowden Sunday morning at two o'clock of cancer of the stomach at the age of 58 years and 27 days.

In 1877 he was united in marriage to Wilhelmine Edler. To this union five sons and five daughters were born, of which two sons and one daugher died in infancy.

In 1889 Mr. Brockmeyer with his family emigrated to this country and lived for six years in Lowden, after which they moved on a farm south of town. About a year ago he had to give up farming on account of ill health and moved back to Lowden. In June of this year he submitted to an operation which revealed an incurable cancer which was the direct cause of his death.

Deceased was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and was a good man who had the respect and good will of all his neighbors and other friends.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, three sons and four daughters, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, also his aged father, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were conducted at the German Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. J. H. Brammer officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery. The pallbearers were Fred C. Klipp, E. Hoffmeier, Henry Hinrichs, F. C. Meier, Henry Koehne and Wm. Hein.
