2 July 1942 - The Lowden News

Mrs Edwin Becker, 52, died suddenly shortly before noon Saturday in her home seven miles southwest of Lowden. She had been in ill health for about 20 years, though an operation about two and one-half years ago gave her some relief. She was stricken again on May 15, but from this she also partly recovered and Saturday she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, which caused her death.

Funeral services where held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the home and 1:45 in Trinity Lutheran church. The Rev. H. Maas officiated. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl Deerberg, Henry Deerberg, Anton Deerberg, Lawrence Kleppe, Carl Dircks and Robert Drichel. The flowers were in charge of Mrs Carl Deerberg, Mrs Henry Helmold, Mrs Charles Freese and Mrs Elmer Conrad.

Anna Dorothea Louise Krueger was born Jan. 26, 1890, on a farm about four miles west of Lowden, a daughter of Mr and Mrs August Krueger. In her infancy she was baptized by the late Rev. J. H. Brammer. She received her education in Trinity school and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 27, 1904.

On Feb. 25, 1914, she was married to Edwin Becker and they made their home on the farm where the family still resides. She became the mother of five children, two sons and three daughters.

Surviving are her husband and children, Ralph and Alvin at home, Mrs Raymond Conrad and Mrs Lawrence Burhop of Clarence, and Mrs Walter Deerberg of Wheatland; one brother August Krueger of Lowden and two sisters, Mrs Edward Moeller of Davenport and Mrs Gus Hansen of Lowden. One sister, Marie, preceded her in death.

Among those from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr and Mrs Alfred Engelking and Mr and Mrs Albert Zabel of Ida Grove, Iowa.
