REX BLAKELY CARSON, 88, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Putnam Care and Rehabilitation Center, Hurricane, W.Va. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va., with Rev. James David Easter officiating. He was born October 23, 1921, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of the late Maxwell and Elsie Clark Carson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Larry and brother William Carson. He was a retired quality control analyst with Union Carbide and a retired farmer. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Lebanon Lodge 68, AF&AM, Milton. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lillian Carson; a son, Jerry and Patricia Carson of Cross Lanes, W.Va.; a daughter, Sandra and Tim Easter of Milton; brother Donovan Carson of Lesage, W.Va.; sister Genevieve and Brett Smith of Ona, W.Va.; grandchildren Amanda Hoops, Christina Bush, Michael Carson; special grandson, Brian Carson; five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Donations may also be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.
