Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for George Floyd Cumberledge, aged 31, well known Wayne township farmer, who died at 8:15 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at his home near Kughntown following an illness of two weeks, due to influenza. Short services were held at his late home at 1 o'clock, followed by further rites in the Phillips Methodist Episcopal church. The services were in charge of Rev. W. S. Gump, of Brave. Interment was in the Phillips cemetery.

A son of the late R. A. and Louise Gorby Cumberledge, he was born September 14, 1901, in Wayne township and spent all his life in that part of the county. He leaves his wife, Hazel Kughn Cumberledge; two children, Clarence, aged 4, and George, Jr., aged 6; one brother, Charles Cumberledge, of Kughntown, and four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Whipkey, of Wind Ridge; Mrs. Minerva Lowe, of Mannington, W. Va.; Mrs. Cressie Phillips, of Aleppo, and Mrs. Elizabeth March, of St. George, W. Va.
