Richard J. Gustafson, 63, passed away Saturday, (June 3, 2006) at the Shoreline Clinic. He was born in New Haven, February 11, 1943 the son of the late Ernest Richard "Gus" and Leila Gustafson. He worked for over 20 years as a lead pipe fitter at the former Chesebrough Ponds. Richard was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army and a past member of the Westbrook Fife and Drum Corp color guard. He leaves behind his children Erik Gustafson of Westbrook, Katrina Aiken of Clinton and Anne Gustafson of Hanover, Germany. In addition he leaves a sister Sheila Devoid of Westbrook and a grandson Henrik Gustafson. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, with a memorial service to be held at 7 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook, CT.
