Sudden Death Of Mrs. Lund

Is Seized with Heart Failure and Drops Dead in Yard-Deceased Was Richfield Pioneer
Mrs. Henrietta Lund, mother of Oluf Lund of this city, died very suddenly on Friday morning about 6 o'clock. She had been in excellent health for a long time and her relatives had no idea that death was so near. She rose early, as is her custom and stepped out of doors. She had walked but a few steps when she fell to the ground. Mr. Fisher, a neighbor, happened to see her at the time she fell and he ran across and notified Oluf. Both ran to the unfortunate lady and picked her up, but life was extinct.
Mrs. Lund was born in Denmark 83 years ago. She came to Utah 34 years since, coming to Richfield as soon as she reached this county. She has lived here continuously and has assisted in the settling of this portion of the state. She is survived by four sons and two daughters, although she was the mother of 18 children.
Funeral services were held in the Tabernacle Sunday afternoon and a large audience turned out to pay their last respects to the remains of the deceased who was so well known and who had a host of friends here. The services were impressive, the speakers dwelling on the many good deeds and noble traits of character of the deceased. The speakers were Morten Jensen, Paul Poulson and A.G. Young. Each of these gentlemen paved a glowing tribute to the memory of Mrs. Lund.
Music was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Bird, Lizzie Hansen, W.T. Orrock and David Hanson.
Two sons and two daughters of the deceased were present at the funeral. These were Emeal Lund, Oluf Lund, Mrs. Laura Lund Olsen and Mrs. Soren Christiansen. The other two sons could not be reached so that they could attend the funeral. There were many grandchildren present from Salt Lake City and Salina.
Mrs. Lund has lived an exemplary and useful life and her works live after her. She was highly respected by the entire community.
