NEWPORT NEWS - Bernice Crooks Lee, 71, died on Friday, June 16, 1995, in Newport News. She was a native of Richmond and a Peninsula resident for 22 years.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Antique Car Club of America and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, William Boyce Lee of Newport News; three daughters, Patricia L. Meyer of Gloucester, Pamela J. Lee of Forest City, N.C., and Debra S. Lee of Cary, N.C.; three sons, William T. Hall of Vacaville, Calif., Robert J. Hall of Richmond and Timothy R. Hall of Newport News; one sister, Norma Forester of Castroville, Texas; one brother, Robert Crooks of Roanoke; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Crooks and Ernest Crooks.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Umphlett Funeral Home by the Rev. Milton Hines. Burial in Peninsula Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at Umphlett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
