Rites Monday for George Larson
Funeral Services were held Monday, May 12, (1986) at 2 p.m. in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, for George Larson, age 88, who died on May 9th, in a Minot Hospital. Rev. David Bernhardt officiated, Mrs. Joan Larson was organist and casketbearers were Allen Landers, Herman Landers, Vernon Eklund, Myron Nordloef, Harlan Nordloef, and Walter Egger. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
George Peter Larson was born March 17, 1898, at Lake Lillian, Minnesota to Peter and Christina (Berglund) Larson. The family moved to a farm in Kandiyohi Township, Burke County, (ND) where he grew up.
He was united in marriage to Irene Eymann on May 22, 1929 at Bowbells, ND. The couple made their home on a farm in the area. Larson later purchased a bar which he and his wife operated in Kenaston from 1954 to the early 1960's, where he retired. They then moved to Kenmare.
His wife died on May 6, 1970 and he then moved to the Baptist Home in Kenmare.
He had been a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his brothers, Martin of Blomkest, MN, Lyman of Washington and a sister Evelyn Lungstrum of Wilmar, MN.
