Mrs. Loead Vaughn Dill, 92, of Greer, SC, entered into rest on May 8, 2012 at Kentwood in Augusta, Georgia. She was a native of Greenville County and lived her life in Greer, SC. She was a lifetime and active member of Fairview Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Lottie Copeland Sunday School Class and the choir. Her love for music never diminished. The one thing she continued to enjoy and respond to in her latter years was her music. A few of the many things she enjoyed was the outdoors, growing and sharing her fruits and vegetables from her gardens. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She also never forgot those that were ill. She enjoyed preparing and carrying a meal to them. She and her husband owned and operated Dill's Par 3 and Miniature Golf Course, and were part owners of Dill's Creek Commons Shopping Center. She gained great pleasure in teaching many kindergarteners from surrounding elementary schools at Dill's Miniature Golf Course. Survivors include a daughter, Lanell Dill Lovett and Charlie Lovett, Sr. of Martinez, GA; a son, Dawson W. Dill, Jr. and Lila S. Dill of Greer; three grandsons, Charlie Lovett, Jr. and his wife, Alice, Marcus Lovett and his fiancé, Carla, and Anthony Lovett and his wife, Debbie; and five great-grandchildren, Carol Amber Lovett, Carter Alison Lovett, Molly Lanell Lovett, Erin Marie Lovett, and Dakota Lovett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dawson William Dill of sixty-seven years; her parents, Landrum J. and Hattie H. Vaughn; her brothers, Marvin C. (M.C.) Vaughn, Woodrow R. Vaughn and Ralph S. Vaughn; and her great-grandson, Charlie A. Lovett III. A special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Iris Harris, Freda Harris, Rosella Lee, Connie Parker, and Tonya Ware along with the entire staff of Kentwood Nursing Facility. Our appreciation to First Baptist Church of Augusta who ministered to her as her church away from home. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Tom Burns. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Charlie Jr., Marcus and Anthony Lovett, Michael Dill, Donald Royal, Jr., and Terry Wood. Honorary escort will be The Lottie Copeland Sunday School Class and the choir. Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 1300 Locust Hill Road, Greer, SC 29651 or the charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com
