Carlyle "Clyde" Rayburn was born June 10, 1919 in Mansfield, Illinois the son of Sherman and Bertha Douglas Rayburn. He married Wilda Avers on July 10, 1947 in Philo, Illinois.

Clyde is survived by his wife Wilda, his father Sherman of Fisher, Illinois, three brothers: Herbert of Springfield, Missouri, Ray of Pawnee City, Nebraska, Jesse of Dixon, Illinois, four sisters: Ethel Mariner of Peoria, Illinois, May Miettinen of Tremont, Illinois, Tressa (A.C.) Jones of Fulton, Mississippi, and Bessie Rayburn of Burlington, Iowa.

He was orphaned, in Iowa, at age 11 along with his brothers: Ray and Jesse and sisters: May, Tressa, and Bessie when his parents divorced. He ran away to his paternal grandparents home in Illinois where he remained until reaching adulthood.

Clyde was preceeded in death by his mother in January 1958.

He was employed by the State of Illinois at the State School in Lincoln. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
