OBITUARY
John Frederick Bolton, 82, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Eastern Star Home in Boone. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, October 12th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Madrid where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillsdale Cemetery, east of Madrid.
John was born November 26, 1939 in Des Moines to Virgil and Edna (Knoll) Bolton. He was raised in Boone and Polk County and graduated from Madrid High School. John married Evelyn Jebron on August 14, 1960. John farmed all his life and retired from John Deere in Ankeny. He was a member of the two-cylinder club and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Evelyn. John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons: Steve Bolton and Jeff (Rochelle Woodard) Bolton, all of Boone; grandchildren: Garrett (Rose Swalla) Bolton, Ashlee (Nathan) Swinton, Emily (Chris) Gertie, Zachary Bolton, Mariah Bolton; great grandchildren: Dylan, Stella, Phoenix, Caleb, Zachary, Sadie; siblings: Mary Lou Sigmund of Madrid, Sue (John) Meeker of Huxley. John was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; brothers: Richard and Keith Bolton; great granddaughter, Addisyn.
