Suzanne Kay Clark, 71, of Rapid City, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Munson Medical Center. A resident of Rapid City, Sue was born in Lansing on March 2, 1941. She was the youngest daughter of JW and Charlotte Overley. On Sept. 16, 1969, in Auburn Heights, she married Stanley Dean Clark. Sue and Stan raised eight children and opened their home to anyone who needed a place to stay. Sue was the bookkeeper for the family business, Clark & Sons Plumbing and Heating. She loved quilting, cooking, gardening and flower arranging. Sue also loved to bake, was a talented wedding cake decorator and made the cakes for several of her children's weddings. She enjoyed planning family reunions and entertaining friends. Sue is survived by her seven children, Kathi (Jeff) Hoover, of Russiaville, Ind., Randy (Amy) Clark, Roderick Clark, Jerrold Knapp, all of Rapid City, Bill (Jamie) Knapp, of Kewadin, Carol Clark, of Durango, Colo., and Amy Cutter, of Traverse City; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; one sister, Joan Dorer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, JW and Charlotte Overley; husband of 35 years, Stanley Dean Clark; a daughter, Regina "Gennie" Clark; and her sister, Shirley Krulakowski. Funeral services will be held at the Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Milton Township Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Elk Rapids.
