Melody Griffin Kennedy, 38, of Tifton, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at her parents' home in Tifton.
Bradley Griffin, Josh Baker, Cody Smith, Levi Griffin, Bentley Griffin, Wesley Griffin and Zachary Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy's nephews, will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Georgia State Patrol will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Sept. 2, 1973, in Tifton. Melody Kennedy was married to Richard Kennedy and they have a daughter, Masy Rae, who reside in Tifton. Parents are Ben and Joyce Willis Tyson, who survive and reside in Tifton. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfathers, Vondell Willis and Morris "Moose" Griffin, and her paternal grandparents, Wesley and Mary Tyson.
Mrs. Kennedy graduated from Tift County High School in 1992 and attended ABAC. She graduated from the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Fla., and was a licensed massage therapist at Therapeutic Massage of Tifton. Mrs. Kennedy loved her work and each client was special to her. She enjoyed a large number of loyal friends. She also enjoyed shopping with her mother. Mrs. Kennedy loved her daughter with all her heart. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, daughter, and parents, Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Sonja Griffin of Dawson; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" Baker of Tifton, Lesia and Steve Jackson of Savannah, Tina and Jeff Hunt of Kernersville, N.C., and Jill and Sonny McKay of Charleston, S.C.; and her maternal grandmothers, Sara Willis of Ty Ty and Joyce Griffin of Dawson.
