T. W. A. Brings Pilot’s Wife and Children Here From Nebraska
Mrs. Jane Gandy and her two sons, George Gandy, 14, and Mark Gandy, 9, were in Fremont, Neb., Saturday night when word reached them that the Trans World Airlines Super-Constellation piloted by the husband and father, Capt. Jack S. Gandy, had crashed in the Grand Canyon.
T. W. A. sent a DC-3 transport plane to Fremont to return then to Kansas City. The home is at 5916 West Sixty-second street.
The Gandy’s have two daughters, Harriet Gandy, 11, and Sue Gandy, 5, who had been left at the home.
Captain Gandy, 42, was a veteran of nearly 20 eyars of flying. He had piloted for T. W. A. a total of about 14 years, with that service interrupted by World War II duty with the Naval Air Transport service.
Surviving besides his wife and children, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Gandy, and a sister, Mrs. Lucian Porter, Marceline, and a brother, Ronald Gandy, 5011 East Forty-first street.
