Hugh H. Altick was a native Daytonian. He attended the University of Dayton Law School, passed the bar in 1929 and went to work for the firm of Matthews & Matthews. Their chief client was the Dayton Power and Light Company.
The firm later became known at Altick & McDaniel and it merged with other firms to form Altick & Corwin several years before Altick’s retirement in 1987. He tried many cases as counsel for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Greyhound Bus Company, and the insureds of Nationwide.
