Garland J. Ambrose, 50, died Saturday at his home in Cudahy, Calif. Mr. Ambrose was born April 11, 1914, near Ulman, a son of Clayton (Sam) and Opal Phillips Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose was a farmer and was in construction work in California.
Garland Ambrose was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ann Goeller Ambrose; his mother, Opal; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Rucker, Mrs. Virginia Malone, Jo Ann Ambrose and Kathy Ambrose; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Glenn and Doral; and a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Weinel.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Scrivner-Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with the Rev. Luther Martin officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery under the direction of the Scrivner-Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia.
