Mary E. Gasper, 89, died November 9, 2001 at Kittitas Valley Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Ellensburg after a brief illness. Mary was born in Cle Elum on October 23, 1912 to Josip and Anna Gregurich. On February 15, 1946, she married George Gasper, Jr. who preceded her in death on January 6, 1986.

Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cle Elum. She was also a very active 36 year member of the Roslyn Eagles No. 696 Auxiliary. During her 36 years with the Eagles, she was the Sunshine chairman for more than 25 years, on the decorating committee for 19 years and part of a group that put on various club dinners. She loved to crochet, make afghans, and watch professional sporting events, especially the Mariners. She was also known for sewing numerous lap robes that were given to the residence of Pinecrest Nursing Home.

She is survived by a daughter, Evelynn (Cava) (George) Stimac of Roslyn; special niece, Patricia (Melray) Reed of Roslyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request, private services were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial at Laurel Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Roslyn Fire Department Aid Car Fund, P. O. Box 451, Roslyn, WA 98941 or St. John Parish Memorial Fund. Cascade Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
