Services for Foster (Butch) Bessler of Santa Ana, Calif., formerly of South Bend who died Monday in Santa Ana, will be at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif. He was born June 18, 1898 in LaPaz and lived in South Bend and LaPaz most of his life until he moved to California about 15 years ago. He owned a tavern in downtown Mishawaka for over 25 years and also operated a cafe in LaPaz.
In November 1926, he married Mary Black who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Jardine Williams of Huntington Beach Calif., a son, David of California. Five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Lura Dunnuck of South Bend and Mrs. Fayetta Dunn of Walkerton.
