Actor. Best remembered for playing Jack Dane in the TV series "Daktari!" (1966 to 1968). A standout student, he attended Cornell University from where he received a Business degree and following graduation, he served with the US Army attaining the rank of lieutenant. He entered the entertainment industry with an uncredited role in the picture "Mad Dog Coll" (1961) and followed this with numerous TV spots in the episodes of the programs "Cheyenne", "The Untouchables" and "My Favorite Martian". His breakout part was when he played Doctor Bob Ayres in a one-year run on the serial "General Hospital" (1964 to 1965). After concluding his acting career during the late 1970s, Summers focused fully on serving with the Screen Actors Guild at various capacities he held over the next several decades.
