Catherine Bounelis Botts, 94, of Annapolis died May 6 in her residence at Sunrise of Annapolis.

Catherine was born May 5, 1918 in Morristown, TN to Nick and Effrosini Bounelis and moved to Annapolis as an infant where she resided most of her life. She also resided in Florida and New Mexico. She graduated from Annapolis High School and attended the University of Athens in Greece and graduated from the Annapolis Business School.

She had a long and distinguished career working in a variety of positions for the Red Cross, AACo Welfare board, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Walton Yacht Brokers, and the National Park Service.

She belonged to Alpha Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Cultural Sorority and held numerous positions. She was a member of the Annapolis Choral Society and the JayShee's, an Auxiliary of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce. Her interests included including traveling, birding, music, art, and opera.

She was married to James H. Botts who died in 1995 and John McWilliams who died in 2002 She is predeceased by her brothers Charles Bounelis and Daniel Bounelis and her sister Domna Janis. She is survived by her brother George Bounelis and sister Helen Sisson of Annapolis and Mary Mendis of Billings Montana, cousin Dr. Steven Abramedis, many nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 with a Service following at 11:00 on May 11 at the John Taylor Funeral Home on Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or Hospice of Heartlands.
