Edith D. Eades, age 86, of Paynesville, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at the Eden Valley Church of God in Eden Valley. Pastor Russ Magaw will officiate. Burial will take place in the old Eden Lake Cemetery in rural Eden Valley. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel ­ Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church in Eden Valley. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Edith was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Eden Lake Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Sherman and Estella (Ford) Mills. She married Edward Eades on Sept. 26, 1933, and they lived in Eden Valley most of their married life. Edith moved to Paynesville in 1982. She worked as a clerk for Gaspar Fairway in Eden Valley and later at Wally's G & T Foods in Paynesville for many years. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Aulick in Eden Valley. She was a dorm mother for the Oregon Bible College in Illinois for five years, was a volunteer driver for the Stearns County Social Services, the Paynesville Area Health Care System, and for many others in her community. She was a member of the Paynesville Senior Citizens and a lifelong member of the Eden Valley Church of God.

Edith is survived by her son David (Beatrice) Eades of Brainerd, daughter Darlene (Wally) Thyen of Paynesville, five grandchildren: Michael Thyen, Cheryl Wall, Alexandra Slone, Christina Posner and Nicholas Eades, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brothers Scott and Gerald Mills and sisters Madge Coulter and Blanche Coulter.
