CUMBERLAND GAP, Tenn. — Elizabeth McCreary, age 89 of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., passed away Sunday, May 6 2012, at Claiborne Co. Nursing Home, after a long illness.
Born November 22, 1922, she was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church. Her love for everyone was demonstrated by her giving, helping, cooking for family and friends and she was definitely the best cake baker.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Johnny and Mary McCreary; sisters, Lorene, Cleo, Maurine and Ruth.
Survivors include brothers, John (Ruth, her loving caregiver) McCreary of Harrogate, Tenn., Hobert (Thelma) McCreary of Jacksboro, Tenn.; sisters, Ann (Roy) Burchfield of Asheville, N.C., Jeanette (Orlando) Sharp of Atlanta, Ga., Loretta (Charles) Johnson of Nashville, Tenn., Martha (Jack) Day of Southaven, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. David Fuson and the Rev. Richard Barnett officiating. Music by Providence Singers.
Burial is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at McCreary Cemetery.
