John Casey Jr. was a very successful farmer and stock raiser in northern Fayette Co IL. He was also a good buisnessmen. He went to tax sales and bought farms which were being sold for taxes. In 1863 he owned and operated and paid taxes on about 1500 acres of good Illinois farm land.
When his nephew, John G. Casey, Montgomery Co IL died interstate on Aug 05, 1863, John Casey Jr.
was appointed by the Court as Administrator for the Estate of John G. Casey "with full power and lawful authority to secure and collect the said property and debts, whersoever the same may be found."
John Casey Jr. was married three times and was the father of 17 children. Some of the children died in infancy or early childhood but most of the children grew to maturity and were married.
John and Elizabeth had 2 infants deceased 1849 and 1851.
