A graveside memorial will be held July 7th, 2012, 11:00 am at the Anchorage Memorial Park in Anchorage, Alaska.
Jacqueline, was born February 11, 1930 in Kimberly, Oregon, In 1939, she moved to Cordova, Alaska with her parents, Everett and Alice Johnson, and brother, Lavern Johnson. On February 14, 1948, she married Victor Rhine in Valdez, Alaska during a basketball tournament. She and her husband raised 5 children in Cordova, Chistochina, McCarthy and Anchorage, Alaska. She was a compassionate, determined lady, undaunted by life's trials and instilled those values in her children.
She had a special touch with animals, while there were lots of dogs, cats and parakeets in her life, she also raised or tamed, deer, squirrels, a baby black bear, seagulls, martins and a bob cat. She loved her flower gardens and spent many hours tending them.
Some of the highlights in her life was when she and her husband met and actively campaigned for John F. Kennedy's presidency. Helped in a work camp at Kodiak, Alaska after the earthquake to help rebuild the city. Worked as an Assistant Magistrate in Cordova, Alaska. She worked in the Clerk of the Courts, Criminal Division for the State of Alaska in Anchorage, after 23 years of service, she retired in 1995. She was well respected and admired by her peers and co-workers.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Johnson; her daughter, Shairon K. Rhine and 2 sons, Steven M. and wife Charlotte Rhine and Darwin S. Rhine; 7 grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Rhine; brother Lavern Johnson and 2 sons; Victor Rhine Jr and James Rhine.
