Juanita Bumgardner Steele, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Belaire
Health Care Center. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late
George and Minnie Ferguson Bumgardner. Juanita was a member of First Baptist
Church, York. She was a very loving person who enjoyed traveling, gardening and referencing poems.
She is survived by her children; Norma Holland and husband Alvin of York, Donald R. Steele and wife Beth of West Lake Village, CA, grandchildren; Heather (David) Templeton, Zachary (Melissa) Holland, Eric (Susanne) Steele, Emily (Lance)
Franke, Elyssa (Harry)McGregor, Shannon (Eric) Fitzgerald, 13 great
grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws; Billy (Betty) Steele,
and Robert Steele. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by
her loving husband; Wylie Clarence Steele, brothers; Ralph, David C., John,
Roebling, Charles and Edelman Bumgardner, sisters; Florence Cook, Melba Guthrie and Maebelle Steele.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm, Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia. A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Dick Whitner, will follow at 7pm in the Founders Chapel. Private burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.Memorials may be sent to the Pilgrimage Scholarship Fund, Southminster Presbyterian Church, 1401 Hoffman Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
