Cody Paul Stephens (18) was born October 21, 1993 to Melody (Robinson) and Scott Stephens, of Crosby, TX. He attended Crosby High School and after graduation at the end of this month, was planning to attend Tarleton State University on a football scholarship. Cody was very active in FFA, 4H, AG Mechanics, football and enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors. He was an awesome kid who was very active at school and a true testimony for his church family. He loved hanging out was with his friends and his show animals. Cody was always willing to help out anyone who needed it; his heart truly was as big as Texas. At 6’9” and weighing 300 lbs, he was a favorite with the elementary school kids whom he read to and loved on during the team’s weekly visits during the season. He was to receive a scholarship from the Crosby Fair and Rodeo the day after he passed.

Cody is preceded in death by his aunt, Laura Marie Stephens-Knowles. He is survived by his parents, Melody and Scott; brother Clay and sister Katie. He is also survived by his grandparents, Paul V. and Frankie M Stephens, and Shelton and Faye Robinson, his uncle Randy Knowles; aunt and uncle, Pam and Pat Parsons, aunt Donna Johnston-Bunch and husband Billy Bunch and uncle Allen Robinson and wife Cathy. Cody will be remembered by his cousins, Jeff Robinson, Amy Robinson, Nathan Johnston, Kelsey Knowles, Jared Knowles, Kara Parsons and Kyle Parsons as well as many extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Crosby, 615 Runneburg, Crosby, Texas. A Celebration of Cody's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 also at First Baptist Church with burial following at Sterling-White Cemetery, Highlands, Texas.

Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Clay Stephens, Jordan Long, Holden Wright, Dillon Blackshear, Charlie Rooks, Zeke Davenport, Taylor Campbell and Clayton Callicutt. The 2012 Crosby Football team will serve as honorary pallbearers.
