Dewey Benjamin Myler, 78, of Idaho Falls, died November 13, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1924, at Rigby, to Benjamin Hans Myler and Mae Ritter. He grew up in the Clark area and attended Ririe Elementary. The family moved to Idaho Falls when he was 12 and he attended O. E. Bell Jr. High and Idaho Falls High School. He was drafted into the Army in March, 1943, and served until January, 1946. While stationed at Camp Perry, Ohio, he met Elaine Magdalene Lang and they were married December 1, 1944, in the Army Chapel at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served overseas in Mariana Islands of Tinian and Saipan and was in Tinian at the end of the war. After the war he served an apprenticeship as a plasterer until 1949, after which he worked for various plastering and concrete contractors until retiring in 1986. He was the Business Agent for the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Union and Training Coordinator for Southeastern Idaho Plasterers and Cement Masons. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. He liked to fish, read, and loved his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lloyd Myler. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 16, 2002, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 455 West Sunnyside Road, Pastor Larry Cudmore officiating. Burial in New Sweden Cemetery was directed by Wood Funeral Home. Military rites were performed by Bonneville County Veterans Team.
