Marshall Edward Hauser of Crawfordsville died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. He was 98.

Mr. Hauser farmed most of his life, then worked for 10 years as a product inspector and retired from Impex Manufacturing at Crawfordsville.

He graduated high school at Green Township School in Parke County, and studied diesel engines in Chicago, Ill. He lived in Alamo from 1946 to 1956 and at Ladoga from 1956 to 2003.

He was born Sept. 13, 1912, at Paris, Ill., to Clinton William and Dora (Tresner) Hauser. He married Edith L. Elmore on Dec. 3, 1938. She died Dec. 11, 2006.

Surviving are sons, William (Lousie) Hauser of Crawfordsville, Edward (Judith) Hauser of Kokomo and Ernest (Rebecca) Hauser of Hamilton, Ohio; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Sisters, Wanita Carrington and Marjorie Reddy, and a great-grandchild are deceased.
