Evie Mae Allen

Funeral services for Evie Mae Allen, 83, of Opelika will be Sunday, December 28, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel.

Burial will be at Garden Hills Cemetery. The Rev. Vance McCollum will officiate.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen, who died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at East Alabama Medical Center, was born January 19, 1920, in Oxford, Alabama.

Mrs. Allen was a native of Oxford and had been a resident of Opelika since 1937. She was a devoted and full-time homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Joe D. Allen

She was survived by four daughters, Joyce (Curtis) Rudd of Notasulga, Terry (Harry) Biering of Toccoa, GA, Laverne (John) Manning of Auburn, Phyllis (Kevin) Vinson of Ringgold,GA; three sons, Billy (Sandra) Allen of Opelika, Charles (Judy) Allen of Canton, GA, Phillip Allen of Opelika; four sisters, Maggie Curvin of Jacksonville, Mary Belle Hall of Gadsden, Alma Hanna of Melbourne, FL, Martha McCollum of Anniston, Andy Jennings of Gadsden, Luke Jennings of Anniston; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
