Dillard Decker, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

Born January 23, 1924 in Clarkson, Ky., he was the son of Charlie and Maude (Johnson) Decker. He married Flossie Marie (Beasley) Decker on April 12, 1948. She lovingly survives. Dillard is also survived by a son, Larry Decker and wife Terry of Shelbyville; two daughters, Deloris "Dee" Childers and husband Steve, and Debbie Beadle, all of Franklin; grandchildren Heath Childers, Stefanie Woolsey and husband Bryan, Josh Decker, Jared Decker, Matthew Beadle and wife Heather, Noel Barger and wife Robin, and Celeste Beal and husband Phillip; and great-grandchildren Caleb, Jacob, Haley, Kenzie, Meridian, Molly and Kelsey.

He also is survived by sisters Vada Carwile and Nora Newton. He was preceded in passing by his parents; brothers Erman and Lester; and sisters Rhea and Velma.

He attended school in Clarkson, Ky. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Dillard was employed by Arvin Automotive in Franklin for 40 years, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of First Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin. Dillard so enjoyed spending his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh.
