Died – On Saturday evening, March 18, Mrs. Margaret Mortell, age 78 years. Margaret Callaghan was born in the parish of Druman, County Limerick, Ireland, where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1847 to Patrick Mortell. The same year they came to America and located at Boston, Mass., where they resided until 1852, when they came west and located in the town of Chilton, on the farm now owned by John Hurley. She has resided in the town of Chilton ever since. Mrs. Mortell was a woman who was generous to a fault, and her charitable acts were known to all deserving people in the community. She was a loving wife and mother and a devout member of the Mother Church. Her funeral took place Tuesday from St. Augustine's Catholic Church. The remains were interred in the cemetery west of the city. She leaves an aged husband and four sons to mourn her death.
